If you haven’t already seen this video then check it out. What you’ll see is a group of skaters skating through a neighborhood in North Vancouver, BC. All the skaters are obeying the rules of the road and remain in their respective lane at all times. Towards the end of the video an unmarked police SUV pulls into the opposite lane to force the skaters to stop. While skating in this area is technically illegal, the maneuver the police officer pulled endangered all the skaters coming downhill.

A good watch: It’s funny how these “hooligans” really didn’t cause any trouble until the police came by and gathered up all their skateboards. Yes, apparently they took them away back then too.
Synopsis: This short 1966 documentary dedicated “to all victims of intolerance” depicts the dawn of skateboarding in Montreal. A new activity frowned upon by police and adults, skateboarding gave youngsters a thrilling sensation of speed and freedom. This film – the first Canadian documentary ever made about the sport – captures the exuberance of boys and girls having the time of their lives in free-wheeling downhill locomotion.
Music: “Clang” by Jeremy Irons & The Ratgang Malibus
